Happy Saturday!
Is a long weekend for a lot of us and traditionally the last Holiday weekend of Summer. Summer. I so enjoy Summer, but right now or more specifically, since yesterday, I'm Soooooo over it!! Our A/C broke yesterday and we had to spend a horrible, long night trying to sleep in this triple digit, humid weather. Enough already!!
We tried the going for a dip in the pool approach, but that didn't help since the pool water itself is not that cold. Three fans in our bedroom and past midnight, I think, we finally fell asleep.
Enough of that, I did manage to make a card for the Mojo Monday 308 sketch. This kept my mind off the heat for a while. My niece is having a birthday coming up here pretty soon and I decided to make a birthday card for her. Here's my card:
My niece is a "girly" kind of a girl. She also enjoys being active, so I thought this pattern paper from Jilli Bean Soup. Is now retired, but the bicycle pattern is perfect for her.
I added some flowers (from my stash) around the main oval dies from Stampin UP!
For another girly touch, a little bling on the tires.
On the inside more pattern paper and a sentiment, also from Stampin' UP!
I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of paper, then punched a oval in the cardstock to fit over the stamped image, added adhesive to keep together and then adhered to the inside of the card. The pattern paper strips on the side where an after thought, but I thought is came out cute and completes the look.
A close up of the sentiment on the inside. I really do need to find my good camera. My little point and shoot is not cutting it. So my apologies again. I do hope you enjoy my card and as always, I do welcome all of your comments. Thanks for looking!!
Happy Scrappin'!!
