Nurses are Great!!

A Thank you Card

My oldest daughter is going to Nursing school and asked me to make a Thank you card for one of her professors.  I made this card using some retired pattern paper from Stampin UP!.  The very cute nurse hat and stethoscope are from an Etsy shop, TeaBreakArt.  The thanks die is from Lawn Fawn.

I added some embellish from Queen and Company.  Whatever your profession, I believe every girl likes and should have some bling in her life.

Here's a view from the inside.  These stamps are from a very cute set from Virginia Turtle.  I believe this set it's no longer available, but all of her stamps are really cute and with funny messages.

Ok. Gotta run to my WW meeting, so I will post more stuff later.  Thank you for looking.  Until next time.

Fabulous Cricut Challenge Mother's Day

Mother's Day Challenge #275

I've a little under the weather lately dealing with some minor health issues and made the decision to take a couple of days and play in my craftroom instead of doing household chores. I will have a few post coming up with what I've made.
This is my card for the Fabulous Cricut Challenge. The challenge is to make anything for Mother's Day and since the day it's coming up this weekend and I do have to get a few cards done, well why not enter a challenge.  So Here's my card.

I used a file for the Cricut Design Studio. Also used some scraps from my stash.  The pattern paper is from Authentique - Playful Collection.  A paper doily from my stash and some sequins from a purchased I made online, but I'm not sure of the source. The sheer ribbon I purchased at a local craft store.

I hope you enjoy it.  Until next time, which will be hopefully later today.

Birthday Card for Presley!

Hello friends, I want to share with you today a birthday card I made for a friend's daughter who just turned one year old this past weekend.  I think I made extra special as she also shares the birthday with my only son.  Perhaps a little bias?!!
I also am entering this card in Kathleen Driggers's challenge in which we have to use sequins and this happens to be my new obsession.  I love sequins!!!
Kathleen has awesome stuff at her store you can visit her hereKat Scrappiness - Craft & Stamping Supplies.  She has all sorts of goodies for us crafters and at great prices too.

OK so here is my card.

Here's a close up of the shaker part of the card and the butterflies.

I'm really happy with it. These are the supplies I used:

The stamps of Life "Happy Birthday Circle Die"  and Pattern paper pad Paper Wishes.  Sequins are from my stash and I picked these up at a local craft store and don't remember the brand or supplier. Ribbon is from my stash as well and cardstock is from Bazzill Basics.  I hope you all like my card.

Until next time.  Thanks for visiting my blog.........

Bon Voyage!!

We are going on a cruise!  We leave today for the Caribbean and couldn't be more excited.
I did have an order of tags for a First Year Old birthday party and because they are for a dear friend, I wanted to finish them before we go on vacation.
Here's a quick picture of them(80 total!).  I used my Cricut Explore and I have to say this is the first time I've used to a big project and it was a life saver!

The picture is not the greatest but I just wanted to share.  I will be posting some great pictures of our vacation when we return next week. Until then I will relaxing here:

It's been a while.....

It's been a while since I've posted anything on my blog. Life has changed around my household quite a bit since the last time I posted anything, which has been almost two years!!
My oldest daughter, her husband and my two grandsons moved in with us after they sold their home so that she can go to school full-time and pursue her dream of becoming an RN.  As you all can imagine, this has made a HUGE change in our lives as my husband and I still have our youngest daughter home finishing high school.  To say that things are hectic is a major understatement.  We're all making it work, but it's very interesting and challenging at times.

Another change happened when I took an early retirement and decided to enjoy life more at my husband's side, since he has been retired for a few years now.  I'm spending more time at home relaxing, walking, crafting more, spending more time with mother and of course playing taxi for my youngest daughter and my two grandsons. I'm not bored yet and no, my house it's not spotless.

Contrary to what I thought, I haven't worked on my paper crafts as much as I thought I would, but I have spent some time organizing my scrapbook area and watching videos on the Cricut Explore.

I have manage to make a couple of cards with a few new "toys" I've been purchasing and that I received as gifts. Here are two cards as examples. Displaying FullSizeRender.jpg

These cards are also my very first shaker cards.  I used paper from the Wishes Collection of The Stamps of Life.  The sequins are from the now closed shop My Scrap Spot.  Ribbon from my stash and cardstock from SU!.

This other one is with the same die from Impression Obsession Rubber Stamps. I don't believe is available anymore as I bought it on clearance.

I am working on some Valentine's for challenges and to give to my family for Valentine's Day.  I will hopefully post those tomorrow.
For now, that's it, thanks for looking.

Until next time,

Happy Friday Everyone!!

The weekend is finally here and in Sunny California, is well......Sunny.
It promises to be a great weekend for gardening or any outside projects.  I know I will be helping my husband and son with a new gate for our backyard, so we can keep our four-legged children AKA-Dogs, out of the pool.Yup!, no more swimming for them.

Although we will  be busy all weekend, I'm hoping to get some more scrapping done. My son is soon graduating college and he has asked me to make his graduation announcements, instead of buying the pre-printed ones.  My heart swells with joy.  He wants mom to make his graduation announcements!! Sniff, sniff...LOL

So, if any of you friends out there have any samples or ideas, please send them my way

OK on to business.  I just made a Congratulations card with the CAS(E) this sketch! #72.   Julie Day is the wonderful sketcher for this week's sketch. Thank you Julie.  I always get great inspiration from all these wonderful designers. Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:
I used some now retired pattern paper. Foothloose from Close to My Heart.  The cardstock is from Michaels.  I used a hexagon punch from my stash.
The sequins I used are from My Craft Spot in Lemon Meringue.  They came in the mail today and I couldn't wait to play with them and use them on a project. I also added some baker's twine. The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up! called Curly Cute. I heat embossed in white.
Here's another close up of the sequins.

That's about it for now.  I'm off to my grandson's roller hockey game and to endure the heat that we've been having this last couple of days.  I hope you enjoyed and liked my card. Thank you for visiting.

                                                                                           Happy Scrappin'!!

SC483 and Wacky Wednesday #88

Hi there friends,

It has been a long time since I posted anything on my blog.  A lot is going on as it happens with life, right?
I have a card for two challenges Wacky Wednesday #88- Easter Challenge and Splitcoast Stampers SC483.
Wacky Wednesday is just an Easter Theme and Splitcoast has a sketch challenge. Here's the SC483

I used vibrant colors that remind me of Spring from a paper pad  Avalon by Bazzill Basics Paper.

The sentiment stamps is from the set Butterfly Kisses by My Craft Spot, one of my favorite stamp companies.

The butterflies are cut from more of the same pattern paper using a Martha Stewart .  I love to used Bling on most of my projects and this couldn't be the exception.  The card stock is Stampin' Up!
