Happy to Be Here

Happy Tuesday!  I'm happy to be here with this layout.  A little on the background for this project.  A few weeks ago I entered  a layout challenge with Sketches in Thyme and not only was my layout selected the winner but I also was asked to be their guest designer for March.  A big thank you to Tammy Folk and her amazing designing team for giving me the opportunity to create this for them.  Here's the layout I was to follow.  Created by Bev Code.

And here is my layout:

This is a layout I made for my son and DIL.  She is one of the most kind, happy and beautiful people I know and we are all so lucky that she is in our lives.  The picture was taken in our back yard on her birthday, right before they went out to dinner to celebrate.   I chose the papers from Carta Bella Summer Market and Farmhouse Market. I just love these papers for their fresh look and pastel colors.  A couple of close ups of the embellishment clusters.

Here I used flowers from Prima Sugar Cookie collection  They matched the paper and the photo perfectly.  The butterflies on the flowers are from Kaisercraft but are now retired.
I made a paper lace trim with a die from my stash and added some pearls also from my stash that match the gold on the edge of the butterflies perfeclty.
The Sweet Love title was added using Thickers Sparkle teal stickers and Pink Paislee white stickers I purchased at Walmart.  To finish the cluster of butterflies and flowers, I added some sheer ribbon. I really love the way this turned out.  I'm happy that you stop buy to look at it.  Hopefully you like it.  Thank you and until next time.

Mojo Monday #554

Happy Saturday crafty friends.  I'm here today with a card for the Mojo Monday Sketch #554 at Poetic Artistry.  I love this sketch don't You? I used a 6x6 paper pad by Doodlebug Design Sunkissed.  I just love all the colors and prints in this collection.  So sunny and Summer-like.  Can you tell I'm wishing for warmer days.  Its pretty gloomy over here right now and it's been foggy all day.  Here's a look a the sketch:

And here's my take on it.

The gnome and mushroom stamps are from CTMH Gnome Matter stamp and die set.  I really like gnomes and I colored this little guy with Copic Markers.  I'm not very good with them, but I keep practicing.   I added a Happy Birthday sentiment from Honey Bee Stamps Swimming by.  This is now a retired stamp set but still one of my favorites.  A couple of sequin butterflies finish the card.

I hope you all like this happy card.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks for visiting my blog and have a great weekend and I hope you get to play with paper and scissors.

Until next time.

Freshly Made Sketches #473

Hello crafty friends.  Alma here with a challenge card. This one is for the Freshly Made Sketches #473
I love this sketch.  It really can be made in so many different ways. I did a little of ink blending with Catherine Pooler Inks. Really enjoy using her inks for blending as they are great for this as well as stamping.

Here's the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches

Here's my take on the sketch.

I used an older stamp from Lawn Fawn Winter Fox. Just love this little guy with its scarf and the warm cup of coffee or hot cocoa.  I also used some sequins and snow flakes from my stash of embellishments.

I hope you enjoy this card. Thanks for visiting and leaving comments.

Until next time friends.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #593

Happy Saturday y'all!  Here after a very cold week.  The coldest in Texas in many years.  We are slowly recovering.  So today I'm here with a card for Tuesday Morning Sketches #593.   The sketch is very cute and I switch the shape using hexagons instead of circles shapes.  Here's the sketch:

And here is my card:

I used this gorgeous paper from Carta Bella Summer Market. This paper is so pretty and fresh looking it's perfect to bring out colors of Spring and Summer, specially when we are so cold and long for the warmer days. The sentiment Thank You stamp is from Simon Says Stamp Big Scripty Greetings. As embellishments I added Ranger Liquid Pearls

I really hope you enjoy my card and inspires you to create, whatever your craft may be.  Thanks for visiting my blog.  Have a great weekend and a good week.

Until next time crafty friends.

Mojo Sketch # 553

Hello from a very cold Texas.  We are experiencing very unusual weather conditions in our state right now that has caused a lot of people to be snowed in. And what else is there to do but to craft.  I have today a card made for the Mojo Sketch #553 from Poetic Artistry.  It's for a mini card and I love the way this one came out. I think I'm really liking this size in a card.

I made this Hello card using papers from the 6x6 paper pad from Doodlebug Design Inc., The pad is no longer available but I have it in my stash and had to be put to good use. The dies I used are from Echo Park Phone Home Dies. I really love the colors in this paper pack and with the sequins and yellow twine I added, I take it's perfect for a simple hello to brighten someone's day.  Here's my card:

I added a little shimmer with a Sakura Jelly Roll Clear Star pen.  The sequins are from my stash and the twine is from Maya Arts Jule Burlap twine. Here's a couple of close up pictures.

Ok friends.  I hope you like my card and go to the Poetic Artistry blog and check out the wonderful projects their designers have created.  Thanks for visiting my blog and please leave me your comments or suggestions.  Until next time crafty friends.

Sketches in Thyme #455

Hello y'all!  I'm back on Super Bowl Sunday with a sketch from Sketches in Thyme.  We were to have a Super Bowl party at my son and daughter-in-law's home but one of them came down with Covid and that it's that.  I certainly hope this year is going to get better from here on.  So far I'm not impressed!
Anyway, on to the sketch layout. Here's the sketch:Sketch # 455

Here's my sketch.. This is a picture of my family this last Christmas Season as we got together, just as we do each year, to make Tamales.  I decided that we needed some t-shirts for the occassion and made some with my Cricut

I flipped the sketch you the top as my photo fit better that way.  All the products are from my stash and pretty old.  The paper is from Bazzill Basics and I have picture here only for reference.  The embellishments are from a collection I don't have a name to (sorry) and the enamel dots are from Echo Park

I used some stencil to add a little mixed media to the cardstock and retired letters from Quick Quotes.
I hope you like my layout and it inspires you to create as creativity is a great way to relax and release the stress that these uncertain times we're all living in bring.   Stay safe my friends and
