CTS #72 - CONGRATULATIONS

Happy Friday Everyone!!

The weekend is finally here and in Sunny California, is well......Sunny.
It promises to be a great weekend for gardening or any outside projects.  I know I will be helping my husband and son with a new gate for our backyard, so we can keep our four-legged children AKA-Dogs, out of the pool.Yup!, no more swimming for them.

Although we will  be busy all weekend, I'm hoping to get some more scrapping done. My son is soon graduating college and he has asked me to make his graduation announcements, instead of buying the pre-printed ones.  My heart swells with joy.  He wants mom to make his graduation announcements!! Sniff, sniff...LOL

So, if any of you friends out there have any samples or ideas, please send them my way

OK on to business.  I just made a Congratulations card with the CAS(E) this sketch! #72.   Julie Day is the wonderful sketcher for this week's sketch. Thank you Julie.  I always get great inspiration from all these wonderful designers. Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it:
I used some now retired pattern paper. Foothloose from Close to My Heart.  The cardstock is from Michaels.  I used a hexagon punch from my stash.
The sequins I used are from My Craft Spot in Lemon Meringue.  They came in the mail today and I couldn't wait to play with them and use them on a project. I also added some baker's twine. The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up! called Curly Cute. I heat embossed in white.
Here's another close up of the sequins.

That's about it for now.  I'm off to my grandson's roller hockey game and to endure the heat that we've been having this last couple of days.  I hope you enjoyed and liked my card. Thank you for visiting.

                                                                                           Happy Scrappin'!!

  3. Great idea to use hexagons for this sketch and I love that you didn't "nest" them--that gave a great space for the sequins. Thanks for your kind comment on my FMS post.
